Collection of general information
When you access our website, information of a general nature is collected automatically. This information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your internet service provider and similar data. This is exclusively information that does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about you personally. This information is technically necessary in order to deliver the website content you have requested correctly and is generated inevitably when using the internet. We analyse anonymous information of this kind statistically in order to optimise our website and the technology behind it.
Cookies
Like many other websites, we also use so-called "cookies". Cookies are small text files that are transferred from a website server to your hard drive. This allows us to automatically receive certain data such as your IP address, the browser used, the operating system of your computer and your internet connection.
Cookies cannot be used to run programs or transmit viruses to a computer. The information contained in cookies enables us to make navigation easier for you and to ensure our websites are displayed correctly.
Under no circumstances will the data we collect be passed on to third parties or linked to personal data without your consent.
Of course, you can generally also view our website without cookies. Internet browsers are usually set to accept cookies. You can deactivate the use of cookies at any time via your browser settings. Please use the help function of your internet browser to find out how to change these settings. Please note that some functions of our website may not work if you have deactivated the use of cookies.
SSL encryption
To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption methods (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS.
Contact form
Personal data that you send to us electronically via this website, such as your name, email address, address or other personal details provided when submitting a form or comments on the blog, will be used by us, together with the time and IP address, only for the purpose stated, stored securely and not passed on to third parties.
We therefore use your personal data only to communicate with those visitors who expressly wish to be contacted and to process the services and products offered on this website. We do not pass on your personal data without your consent, but we cannot rule out that this data may be viewed in the event of unlawful conduct.
If you send us personal data by email – i.e. outside of this website – we cannot guarantee secure transmission or the protection of your data. We recommend that you never send confidential data by email without encryption.
Rights under the General Data Protection Regulation
Under the provisions of the GDPR, you are generally entitled to the following rights:
- Right to rectification (Article 16 GDPR)
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") (Article 17 GDPR)
- Right to restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR)
- Right to notification – obligation to notify in connection with the rectification or erasure of personal data or the restriction of processing (Article 19 GDPR)
- Right to data portability (Article 20 GDPR)
- Right to object (Article 21 GDPR)
- Right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing — including profiling — (Article 22 GDPR)
If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or that your data protection rights have otherwise been infringed in any way, you can lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority.
Use of Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (hereinafter: Google). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies", i.e. text files that are stored on your computer and that enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, because IP anonymisation is activated on this website, your IP address will first be truncated by Google within Member States of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with further services relating to website and internet use. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.
You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser software accordingly; however, please note that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent. You can also prevent the collection of the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google, as well as the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: Browser add-on to deactivate Google Analytics.
In addition or as an alternative to the browser add-on, you can prevent tracking by Google Analytics on our pages by clicking on this link . This installs an opt-out cookie on your device. This will prevent the collection of data by Google Analytics for this website and for this browser in future, as long as the cookie remains installed in your browser.
Use of script libraries (Google Webfonts)
In order to display our content correctly and attractively across all browsers, we use script libraries and font libraries such as Google Webfonts on this website (open here). Google Webfonts are transferred to your browser's cache to avoid multiple loading. If the browser does not support Google Webfonts or blocks access, content is displayed in a default font.
Calling up script libraries or font libraries automatically triggers a connection to the operator of the library. It is theoretically possible – although currently unclear whether and, if so, for what purposes – that operators of such libraries collect data.
You can find the privacy policy of the library operator Google here.
Google AdWords
Our website uses Google conversion tracking. If you have reached our website via an ad placed by Google, Google AdWords will set a cookie on your computer. The conversion tracking cookie is set when a user clicks on an ad placed by Google. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google can recognise that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be tracked across the websites of AdWords customers. The information obtained using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers learn the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify users.
If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can decline the setting of a cookie required for this – for example via a browser setting that generally deactivates the automatic setting of cookies, or by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain "googleleadservices.com".
Please note that you must not delete the opt-out cookies as long as you do not wish measurement data to be recorded. If you have deleted all your cookies in your browser, you must set the respective opt-out cookie again.
Your rights to information, rectification, blocking, erasure and objection
You have the right to obtain information about your personal data stored by us at any time. You also have the right to rectification, blocking or – apart from the data storage required for business transactions – erasure of your personal data. Please contact our data protection officer for this purpose. The contact details can be found at the very bottom.
So that a block on data can be taken into account at any time, this data must be kept in a blocking file for control purposes. You can also request the erasure of the data, provided there is no statutory archiving obligation. Where such an obligation exists, we will block your data upon request.
You can make changes or revoke consent by notifying us accordingly, with effect for the future.
Changes to our privacy policy
We reserve the right to adapt this privacy policy from time to time so that it always complies with current legal requirements or to reflect changes to our services in the privacy policy, e.g. when introducing new services. The new privacy policy will then apply to your next visit.
